We have had students as young as eleven and as old as eighty using a walker. Despite being low impact tai chi benefits include:

Since tai chi puts little pressure on the joints it is perfect for people with arthritis, with back issues, or pregnancy. We have an entire program devoted to training your children in the art of kung fu.
